ABOUT THE PROJECT

Colors, reflections and transparencies. In Venice, a house in the mirror where the profile of the city creeps in from the windows and then rebounds into the domestic landscape, creating a contemporary space that breaks with classicism.

Colorful, boldly graphic, this penthouse, located in a 16th century house overlooking the Grand Canal of Venice, is redesigned in a contemporary style.

The project, in radical prejudices, remains intimately inscribed in the spirit of the city of Venice. A modern reinterpretation of the city of the Doges, with a unique personality.

The attic project by Eligo Studio reinvents the spirit of the most classic of the Venetian tradition. With exceptional views of the Church of San Marcouola and the Grand Canal, this house flooded with natural light, grapples between the past and the present.

Architect Alberto Nespoli:

“We wanted to break with the surrounding classicism, without disconnecting the Penthouse from Venice.”

The choice of colours, obtained from the facades of the surrounding houses, acts as a link between the ancient and the contemporary.

Architect Alberto Nespoli:

“The brief of the owners – a family passionate about art and architecture with a sober and refined taste – was to bring out the original architecture as much as possible”. We have transposed the incredible view of the Grand Canal into the apartment, creating a contemporary space, capable of breaking with the surrounding classicism without disconnecting from the inspiration of the city.”
